Safeguarding

Welsh Airgun Association (WAA) Safeguarding Statement

The WAA acknowledges the duty of care to safeguard and promote the welfare of everyone that is part of our target shooting community and is fully committed to developing and monitoring robust policies and procedures that minimise the risk of anyone experiencing abuse within the sport setting.

The WAA aims to ensure that all-comers have a positive, enjoyable and beneficial experience, in safe and nurturing environments whether taking part, supporting or running target shooting events.

The WAA recognises that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and expects all staff, contractors and volunteers to be fully committed to promoting and implementing WTSF Safeguarding Policies and Procedures throughout the sport and welcomes feedback from all stakeholders.

Report a Safeguarding Concern:

We all have a duty of care to safeguard others in our sport, whether that is children or adults.

If you (or anyone else) has a concern, you should share it and get advice – doing nothing is never an option, however minor you may think what you have seen is.

You can download an WAA reporting form and find more information about Reporting a Concern. Link = WAA Child Incident Reporting Form
This PDF can be written on by Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge and the amended PDF can then be saved as a new document and emailed to safeguarding@welsh-airgun.org.uk

A WAA Child Incident Reporting Form is available in Microsoft Word format, on request, from safeguarding@welsh-airgun.org.uk

If you know or believe someone is at imminent or immediate risk, you must phone Police or Local Services immediately – following which please contact the lead safeguarding officer for local advice and support.
